Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Green Tye
Supplements sold from Green Tye must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. In Hertfordshire, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Green Tye brands
What’s the smallest run you print?
There’s no fixed minimum. Small runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can combine several designs in one order.
When will my labels arrive in Green Tye?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Green Tye orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
Do you only work with Green Tye businesses?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Green Tye deliveries go out by tracked courier to SG10.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
