Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Hemington
Products you sell from Hemington must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for Leicestershire.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

FAQs for Hemington
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a batch code and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
How long does delivery to Hemington take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so the majority of Hemington orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
Do you send samples?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Hemington address, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
What label suits a powder tub?
Laminated white PP. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
