Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Horncastle
Supplements sold from Horncastle must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
Start with our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Common questions in Horncastle
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Horncastle?
Horncastle is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Horncastle address, so you can feel the materials and finishes before you order.
What’s the smallest run you print?
No fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can combine several designs in one order.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
Do I need to be based in Horncastle to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Horncastle orders go out by tracked courier to LN9.
