Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Idridgehay
Products you sell from Idridgehay must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. In Derbyshire, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Idridgehay brands
Do I need to be based in Idridgehay to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Idridgehay deliveries go by tracked delivery to DE56.
When will my labels arrive in Idridgehay?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so the majority of Idridgehay orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
Yes. Our digital press adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
