Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Langtree
Any food supplement sold from Langtree must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. In Devon, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for Devon.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Common questions in Langtree
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
Laminated white PP. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
When will my labels arrive in Langtree?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so most Langtree orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
Who enforces food labelling in Devon?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Devon, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
What’s the smallest run you print?
There’s no fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can mix several designs in one order.
