Common questions in Llannon
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Llannon?
Llannon is in Wales, so the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003 apply, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
How long does delivery to Llannon take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so the majority of Llannon orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
Laminated white PP. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Rules in Wales
Supplement labelling rules for Llannon
Any food supplement sold from Llannon must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency in Wales. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Ceredigion.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
