Questions from Longcroft brands
What label suits a powder tub?
Laminated white PP. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Do I need to be based in Longcroft to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Longcroft deliveries go by tracked delivery to FK4.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
When will my labels arrive in Longcroft?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so the majority of Longcroft orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
Rules in Scotland
Supplement labelling rules for Longcroft
Supplements sold from Longcroft must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of Food Standards Scotland. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
