Rules in Wales
Supplement labelling rules for New Quay
Supplements sold from New Quay must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency in Wales. In Ceredigion, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for Ceredigion.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
Start with our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from New Quay brands
Do I need to be based in New Quay to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. New Quay deliveries go by tracked courier to SA45.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do you send samples?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in New Quay, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
How long does delivery to New Quay take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most New Quay orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
