Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Old Beetley
Products you sell from Old Beetley must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff for Norfolk.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Old Beetley brands
When will my labels arrive in Old Beetley?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Old Beetley orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Who enforces food labelling in Norfolk?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Norfolk, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
