Polegate questions
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Polegate?
Polegate is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, together with the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Who enforces food labelling in East Sussex?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for East Sussex, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency. If you want assured advice, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
How long does delivery to Polegate take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Polegate orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
