Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Polyphant
Supplements sold from Polyphant must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Polyphant questions
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
When will my labels arrive in Polyphant?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so the majority of Polyphant orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Do you only work with Polyphant businesses?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Polyphant orders go out by tracked delivery to PL15.
What’s the smallest run you print?
No fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can combine several designs in one order.
