Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Portreath
Supplements sold from Portreath must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
You can sell the same label in Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

FAQs for Portreath
Is there a minimum order?
There’s no fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can combine several designs in one order.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
When will my labels arrive in Portreath?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Portreath orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Do I need to be based in Portreath to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Portreath deliveries go by tracked courier to TR16.
