Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Privett
Any food supplement sold from Privett must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff for Hampshire.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Privett questions
When will my labels arrive in Privett?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Privett orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do I need to be based in Privett to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Privett orders go out by tracked courier to GU34.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Privett?
Privett is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, together with the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
