Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Puriton
Any food supplement sold from Puriton must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. In Somerset, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Somerset.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

FAQs for Puriton
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
When will my labels arrive in Puriton?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so the majority of Puriton orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
Is there a minimum order?
No fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can combine several designs in one order.
What label suits a powder tub?
Laminated white PP. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
