Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Sandsend
Supplements sold from Sandsend must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. In North Yorkshire, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

FAQs for Sandsend
How long does delivery to Sandsend take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so the majority of Sandsend orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
What label suits a powder tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Do you send samples?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Sandsend address, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
