Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Setchey
Supplements sold from Setchey must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Setchey questions
What’s the smallest run you print?
There’s no fixed minimum. Short runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can mix several designs in one order.
Do you only work with Setchey businesses?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Setchey deliveries go by tracked delivery to PE33.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
