Shadforth questions
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Do I need to be based in Shadforth to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Shadforth orders go by tracked delivery to DH6.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Shadforth address, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
What label suits a powder tub?
Laminated white PP. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.

Rules in England
Supplement labelling rules for Shadforth
Products you sell from Shadforth must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
Start with our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
