Rules in England
Supplement labelling rules for Sompting
Supplements sold from Sompting must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for West Sussex.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Common questions in Sompting
When will my labels arrive in Sompting?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Sompting orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Sompting, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
Do you only work with Sompting businesses?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Sompting deliveries go by tracked courier to BN15.
What’s the smallest run you print?
There’s no fixed minimum. Small runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can combine several designs in one order.
