FAQs for Spittal
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
What’s the smallest run you print?
There’s no fixed minimum. Short runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can combine several designs in one order.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
We can. Variable data printing adds a different batch and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
How long does delivery to Spittal take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so the majority of Spittal orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Spittal, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
Rules in Wales
Labelling law for supplements from Spittal
Supplements sold from Spittal must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency in Wales. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
