Questions from St Fagans brands
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from St Fagans?
St Fagans is in Wales, so the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003 apply, alongside the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Who enforces food labelling in Cardiff?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Cardiff, with national oversight from the Food Standards Agency in Wales. For advice councils must respect, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
When will my labels arrive in St Fagans?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most St Fagans orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
Yes. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
