Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Whetsted
Products you sell from Whetsted must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Whetsted orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
Who checks supplement labels in Kent?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Kent, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
