Questions from Wilby brands
Who checks supplement labels in Northamptonshire?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Northamptonshire, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Wilby address, showing our materials and finishes.
Do you only work with Wilby businesses?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Wilby orders go out by tracked delivery to NN8.
When will my labels arrive in Wilby?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so most Wilby orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Wilby
Supplements sold from Wilby must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
