Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Winson
Products you sell from Winson must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. In Gloucestershire, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
Start with our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Winson brands
Can you print batch codes and dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
Do you only work with Winson businesses?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Winson orders go out by tracked courier to GL7.
When will my labels arrive in Winson?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so the majority of Winson orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
What label suits a powder tub?
Laminated white PP. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
