Supplement labelling rules for Yr Hôb
Any food supplement sold from Yr Hôb must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency in Wales. Locally, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Yr Hôb questions
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Yr Hôb address, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
How long does delivery to Yr Hôb take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so most Yr Hôb orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
What’s the smallest run you print?
No fixed minimum. Short runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can mix several designs in one order.
