Rules in Wales
Labelling law for supplements from Aberfan
Any food supplement sold from Aberfan must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency in Wales. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Merthyr Tydfil.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Common questions in Aberfan
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Aberfan address, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
When will my labels arrive in Aberfan?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Aberfan orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
What’s the smallest run you print?
No fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can combine several designs in one order.
