Rules in Scotland
Labelling law for supplements from Aird
Supplements sold from Aird must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of Food Standards Scotland. In Na h-Eileanan Siar, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for Na h-Eileanan Siar.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
Start with our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Aird questions
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Aird address, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a different batch and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
What label suits a powder tub?
Laminated white PP. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Is there a minimum order?
There’s no fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can combine several designs in one order.
