Rules in Scotland
Labelling law for supplements from Balmedie
Products you sell from Balmedie must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of Food Standards Scotland. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Aberdeen, with national oversight from Food Standards Scotland. For advice councils must respect, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Balmedie address, so you can feel the materials and finishes before you order.
When will my labels arrive in Balmedie?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so most Balmedie orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
