Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Bishops Wood
Supplements sold from Bishops Wood must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
You can sell the same label in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Bishops Wood questions
Do I need to be based in Bishops Wood to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Bishops Wood deliveries go out by tracked delivery to ST19.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must work for that market. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do you send samples?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Bishops Wood address, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a batch code and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
When will my labels arrive in Bishops Wood?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Bishops Wood orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
