Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Blackboys
Any food supplement sold from Blackboys must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers for East Sussex.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Common questions in Blackboys
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
What’s the smallest run you print?
No fixed minimum. Short runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can mix several designs in one order.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Blackboys?
Blackboys is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, together with the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Blackboys, showing our materials and finishes.
