Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Broadnook
Supplements sold from Broadnook must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. In Leicestershire, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
You can sell the same label in Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Broadnook brands
Can you print batch codes and dates?
Yes. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
Do you send samples?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Broadnook address, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Do I need to be based in Broadnook to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Broadnook orders go by tracked delivery to LE7.
