Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Donisthorpe
Supplements sold from Donisthorpe must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Donisthorpe brands
When will my labels arrive in Donisthorpe?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so most Donisthorpe orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
What’s the smallest run you print?
There’s no fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can combine several designs in one order.
Do I need to be based in Donisthorpe to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Donisthorpe orders go out by tracked delivery to DE12.
Do you send samples?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Donisthorpe, showing our materials and finishes.
