Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Short Heath
Supplements sold from Short Heath must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
You can sell the same label in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Short Heath brands
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Short Heath, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
What label suits a powder tub?
Laminated white PP. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Do you only work with Short Heath businesses?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Short Heath deliveries go out by tracked courier to DE12.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Short Heath?
Short Heath is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
