Rules in Scotland
Label rules that apply in Gorseness
Products you sell from Gorseness must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of Food Standards Scotland. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

We are an online supplement label printer, so there is no need to visit us. You send a brief or artwork, we check it and send a to-size proof, usually within one working day. Labels are printed digitally on white or clear PP, paper or metallic film, finished in gloss, matt, soft-touch or foil, in runs from 250 labels. Once you approve the proof, we print in three to five working days and dispatch your rolls or sheets by tracked courier.

Gorseness questions
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
When will my labels arrive in Gorseness?
Usually two working days after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Gorseness orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Do you only work with Gorseness businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Gorseness deliveries go out by tracked courier to KW17.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
