Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Great Haywood
Any food supplement sold from Great Haywood must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Great Haywood brands
What label suits a powder tub?
Laminated white PP. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll post it to your Great Haywood address, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
Is there a minimum order?
There’s no fixed minimum. Short runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can combine several designs in one order.
How long does delivery to Great Haywood take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Great Haywood orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
