Common questions in Highworth
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll cover both.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Highworth?
Highworth is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, together with the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do I need to be based in Highworth to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Highworth deliveries go by tracked delivery to SN6.
What label suits a powder tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.

Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Highworth
Supplements sold from Highworth must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. In Swindon, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
