Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Jacobs Well
Any food supplement sold from Jacobs Well must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Jacobs Well questions
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Tell us where you sell and we’ll check the label for each market.
When will my labels arrive in Jacobs Well?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so most Jacobs Well orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Jacobs Well?
Jacobs Well is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
What’s the smallest run you print?
There’s no fixed minimum. Short runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can combine several designs in one order.
Do I need to be based in Jacobs Well to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Jacobs Well orders go by tracked courier to GU4.
