Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Ludborough
Supplements sold from Ludborough must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, overseen by the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
Start with our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Ludborough brands
Do you only work with Ludborough businesses?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Ludborough orders go out by tracked courier to DN36.
How long does delivery to Ludborough take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so the majority of Ludborough orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Ludborough?
Ludborough is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, together with the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
We can. Variable data printing adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
