Rules in England
Supplement labelling rules for New Mills
Products you sell from New Mills must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. In Cornwall, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

New Mills questions
Can you print batch codes and dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in New Mills, so you can feel the materials and finishes before you order.
How long does delivery to New Mills take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so the majority of New Mills orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
What’s the smallest run you print?
There’s no fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can combine several designs in one order.
