Rules in England
Labelling law for supplements from Newlands
Products you sell from Newlands must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, as Great Britain shares one set of supplement rules.
Start with our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Newlands questions
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
What label suits a powder tub?
Laminated white PP. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
Do I need to be based in Newlands to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Newlands orders go by tracked courier to NG19.
When will my labels arrive in Newlands?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so the majority of Newlands orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
What’s the smallest run you print?
No fixed minimum. Short runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can combine several designs in one order.
