FAQs for Old Deer
Do you send samples?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Old Deer, showing our materials and finishes.
Who enforces food labelling in Aberdeenshire?
Food labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Aberdeenshire, overseen nationally by Food Standards Scotland. If you want assured advice, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Do you only work with Old Deer businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Old Deer deliveries go out by tracked delivery to AB42.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so claims must come from the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.

Rules in Scotland
Label rules that apply in Old Deer
Products you sell from Old Deer must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, overseen by Food Standards Scotland. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
