Rules in Scotland
Supplement labelling rules for Prestonpans
Products you sell from Prestonpans must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of Food Standards Scotland. In East Lothian, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Prestonpans questions
What’s the smallest run you print?
There’s no fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can mix several designs in one order.
Do you only work with Prestonpans businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Prestonpans deliveries go out by tracked courier to EH32.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Variable data printing adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Prestonpans?
Prestonpans is in Scotland, so the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003 cover your label, alongside the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
How long does delivery to Prestonpans take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. We print in 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Prestonpans orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
