Rules in England
Label rules that apply in Risley
Supplements sold from Risley must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
One label works across England, Scotland and Wales, because the supplement rules match across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Common questions in Risley
Do you only work with Risley businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Risley orders go by tracked courier to DE72.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
When will my labels arrive in Risley?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so the majority of Risley orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
Is there a minimum order?
There’s no fixed minimum. Short runs from 250 labels are common for new products, and you can mix several designs in one order.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It copes with powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
