Rules in Wales
Labelling law for supplements from St Arvans
Supplements sold from St Arvans must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of the Food Standards Agency in Wales. In Monmouthshire, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

St Arvans questions
Do I need to be based in St Arvans to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. St Arvans deliveries go by tracked courier to NP16.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in St Arvans, showing our materials and finishes.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from St Arvans?
St Arvans is in Wales, so the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003 apply, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a different batch and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
Laminated white PP. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
