Rules in Scotland
Supplement labelling rules for Westruther
Supplements sold from Westruther must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, overseen by Food Standards Scotland. In the Scottish Borders, food labelling is enforced by council trading standards or environmental health staff.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Westruther brands
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
We can. Variable data printing adds a different batch and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
Do I need to be based in Westruther to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Westruther orders go by tracked delivery to TD3.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Westruther?
Westruther is in Scotland, so the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003 apply, alongside the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
What label suits a powder tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
When will my labels arrive in Westruther?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so most Westruther orders arrive about a week after you send artwork.
