Rules in England
Supplement labelling rules for Westwood
Any food supplement sold from Westwood must meet the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency. In Nottinghamshire, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team.
The same label can be sold in Scotland and Wales, since the supplement rules are the same across Great Britain.
Begin with our label requirements checklist, and then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Questions from Westwood brands
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Westwood?
Westwood is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 apply, together with the general food information rules. Health claims must come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do I need to be based in Westwood to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Westwood deliveries go by tracked courier to NG16.
Do you check labels for Northern Ireland as well as Great Britain?
We check against both sets of rules. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
How long does delivery to Westwood take?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days from proof approval, so the majority of Westwood orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
