Rules in Scotland
Label rules that apply in Whitehills
Supplements sold from Whitehills must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, under the oversight of Food Standards Scotland. At a local level, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Aberdeenshire.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Common questions in Whitehills
Do I need to be based in Whitehills to order?
No. We work online and deliver across the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Whitehills orders go by tracked courier to AB45.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. EU food law applies in Northern Ireland, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must work for that market. Let us know where your products go and we’ll cover both.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
We can. Our digital press adds a batch code and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
What label suits a powder tub?
White polypropylene with a laminate. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and doesn’t lift on a curved tub.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Ask for a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Whitehills, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
