Gummy vitamin labels
Labels for gummy vitamins, with the extra statements that sweeteners, polyols and gelatine bring.

Statements gummies often need
Gummies trigger rules capsules don’t. If they contain sweeteners, the label needs “with sweetener(s)” next to the name. If polyols make up more than 10% of the product, it needs “excessive consumption may produce laxative effects”. A “sugar free” claim is only allowed with no more than 0.5 g of sugars per 100 g.
Gelatine or pectin
Gelatine gummies aren’t vegetarian, and the source (beef, pork or fish) matters to many buyers. Pectin gummies can be vegan if nothing else is animal-derived. If you say “vegan”, be ready to back it up; see our post on vegan, natural and clean claims.
Child appeal
Gummies look like sweets, so “keep out of reach of young children” matters more here than anywhere. Iron gummies are a particular risk; make the statement easy to find.

Questions
Are gummies for children treated differently?
The supplement rules are the same, but doses and claims must suit the age group, and some claims are restricted for children. We’ll flag anything that looks off.
How do you show the dose for gummies?
As a number of gummies per day, with the nutrient table per that daily dose.
