Questions from Hammerwich brands
Who enforces food labelling in Staffordshire?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Staffordshire, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency. For advice councils must respect, you can set up a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Hammerwich?
Hammerwich is in England, so the Food Supplements (England) Regulations 2003 cover your label, together with the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
What if I sell in Northern Ireland too?
We can check for both. Northern Ireland follows EU food law, so health claims must be on the EU register and the address must be in NI or the EU. Let us know where your products go and we’ll check the label for each market.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Hammerwich, so you can feel the materials and finishes.
Do you only work with Hammerwich businesses?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so your location doesn’t matter. Hammerwich deliveries go by tracked delivery to WS7.
