Questions from Hill brands
Which labelling rules apply to supplements sold from Hill?
Hill is in Wales, so the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003 cover your label, as well as the general food information rules. Health claims have to come from the GB nutrition and health claims register.
Do you add batch numbers and best-before dates?
We can. Variable data printing adds a different batch and date to each run, so you don’t need a separate coder for short runs.
Do you send samples?
Yes. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Hill, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
Who enforces food labelling in Pembrokeshire?
Supplement labelling is enforced by the local council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Pembrokeshire, overseen nationally by the Food Standards Agency in Wales. For advice councils must respect, consider a Primary Authority partnership with a council.
Do I need to be based in Hill to order?
No. We take orders online from anywhere in the UK, so it makes no difference where you’re based. Hill deliveries go out by tracked delivery to SA68.

Supplement labelling rules for Hill
Any food supplement sold from Hill must meet the Food Supplements (Wales) Regulations 2003, regulated nationally by the Food Standards Agency in Wales. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the local authority’s trading standards or environmental health officers.
Welsh-language text is optional on supplement labels. If you add it, both languages must be accurate and the mandatory text must still meet the 1.2 mm minimum x-height.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then review your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.
