Rules in Scotland
Label rules that apply in Millerhill
Supplements sold from Millerhill must meet the Food Supplements (Scotland) Regulations 2003, overseen by Food Standards Scotland. Locally, food labelling is enforced by the council’s trading standards or environmental health team for Midlothian.
Scotland has its own food regulator, but the supplement labelling rules match England and Wales, so one label works across Great Britain.
A good first step is our label requirements checklist, then check your health claims, %NRV figures and nutrient guides.

Common questions in Millerhill
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes, we can. Request a sample pack and we’ll send it to you in Millerhill, showing our materials and finishes before you order.
When will my labels arrive in Millerhill?
Usually the next working day after dispatch. Printing takes 3 to 5 working days after you approve the proof, so the majority of Millerhill orders arrive within about a week of sending artwork.
Is there a minimum order?
There’s no fixed minimum. Many new brands start with 250 labels, and you can mix several designs in one order.
Which material is best for a protein tub?
Laminated white PP. It stands up to powder, moisture and handling, and stays put on curved plastic.
Can you print batch codes and dates?
Yes. Variable data printing adds a different batch and date to each run, so there’s no need for a coder on short runs.
